If one day I was told that I would become allergic to gluten, I would have laughed and say it was impossible as I come from an Italian family.
I found myself back in the summer of 2013, after a vacation in Italy, discovering after many tests that my intestinal problems were due to gluten intolerance.
My doctor suggested me to reduce all food containing gluten.
I remember telling her this would not be easy as I am Italian.
My social life was turned upside down. As a result of this, I did a lot of research because I had to learn a new way of eating.
1 year later, my intolerance became an allergy.
The doctor’s verdict came out : I had to remove all food containing gluten.
I was overwhelmed by a great sadness. I was told by others this was a trend, or that I was doing this diet only to lose weight.
After that, I did not return to the South of Italy for 7 years. It was not conceivable not sharing good meals and conviviality with my family.
Finally, I decided to return there in September 2021, as now a wide choice of gluten-free products is available.

Only gluten-free foods, I could not believe my eyes because there were so much choice.
It reminded me the tastes and flavours of my childhood, that was magical! My eyes were full of stars.
It was back then that it became obvious to me to import these foods in Switzerland.
Thanks to these high quality products made in Italy, I was able to rediscover the pleasures of Italian cuisine with a gluten-free diet with my family and friends.
